“When I was 16 I won a great victory. I felt in that moment I would live to be 100. Now I know I shall not see 30. None of us know our end really or what hand will guide us there. A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, that man can also move himself and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember, how so ever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone. Even if those who presume to play you be kings or men of power. When you stand before God you cannot say ‘But I was told by others to do thus’ or that virtue was not convenient at the time. Remember that.” - Edward Norton as King Baldwin IV

I feel like I do this every few months on this blog, but can I just lament the fact that Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven will never be seen as one of the best movies ever by the mainstream public? The theatrical cut was decent enough, but the director’s cut is WORLDS better. The theatrical cut runs at 144 minutes and the director’s cut runs at 194 minutes, which gives it a Lawrence of Arabia and Ben-Hur epic type feel. Make sure you see the director’s cut!

I can’t keep writing moody contemplative posts forever, so I might as well use this space to start recommending movies that I love that I wish more people had seen lol.
