HO-LY SHIT.
The teaser trailer for The Bourne Legacy just hit and this movie has shot to near the top of my list for most anticipated movies of 2012. Everyone was wondering how it was going to work without Matt Damon, but this trailer gives a little glimpse and whets our appetite for more.
I’m a HUGE fan of Tony Gilroy as a writer and a director. His first two directorial features are brilliant. Michael Clayton is amazing and Duplicity is a damn fun spy espionage flick. I have no doubt that Gilroy has something up his sleeve for this film and I can’t wait to see what it is.
I heard they wanted to go younger with this Bourne so the casting of Jeremy Renner baffled me considering he’s not that much younger than Matt Damon. Apparently it was a compromise between the studio and Gilroy as far as casting choices because if I recall correctly Gilroy wanted Joel Edgerton (Warrior), a young and talented up and comer, to be the new guy but the studio wanted a more recognizable actor and the happy medium was Renner. I love Renner as an actor so anytime we get more of him is a-okay with him and it looks like he’s kicking a lot of ass in this trailer.
The supporting cast though! Bringing back Albert Finney into the fold, getting Rachel Weisz, and EDWARD FREAKIN’ NORTON. I can’t even remember the last movie I saw him in a main role that hit theaters, maybe The Incredible Hulk?
Super amped for this film! 2012 looks like it’s going to be the craziest summer for movies since 2008.
OOOH!!! I’ve only ever seen Jeremy Renner in...Town, where I thought he
Seems like this is gonna be the best one out of all of them. I’m hyped.
