Catching Zzz's
So I predicted that my sleep schedule would be a challenge for me this semester and a week and a half in, it’s 100% true. My sleep schedule goes something like this nowadays: go to bed from 10-11 PM, lie awake until 1-2, wake up at 5, go to school, come home, take a 90 minute-2 hour nap in the afternoon, rinse, wash, and repeat. I seem doomed to sleep 4 hours at night and 2 hours in...

An Online Universe: The Artist →
sakura59:
A silent black and white film in the age of 3D and IMAX cinema!? The Artist is certainly a novelty, but thankfully it is a beautifully made and perfectly executed one.
The film follows George (Jean Dujardin) the star of the quickly fading silent film era as he struggles with the…
Go see The Artist everyone!

Quizzzzzzzzzz
On break in my Pathopharm class, just finished the first quiz. Didn’t think I did so hot, but everything went better than expected! 11/12 for the first quiz, not bad! Unbelievably relieved, but still determined to prove myself. I feel like an underdog in this program and I’m retaining that state of mind to keep myself from getting complacent. Need to keep this up…

Releasing endorphins
So I met up with Dano to just talk for a little while last night and I have to say that that conversation made me feel a lot better. I wouldn’t necessarily say I feel more confident about this quiz tomorrow (still studying my ass off), but it definitely lightened the amount of stress that’s been accumulating over the past week for me. It’s not even like it was a super deep...

Streets on fire...
I had a dream that my whole block was on fire. It was pretty damn crazy to say the least. And this was one of those dreams where you don’t realize you were dreaming until you wake up too. Sometimes you can realize you’re dreaming and even though crazy shit is happening you’re okay with it, not so in this case. The last thing I remember was driving away in my van before it caught...

A week of firsts
It has been big week of firsts: first real nursing classes, first clinical, first time I’ve used the Muni metro, first time I haven’t watched a movie in an entire week (okay… that one’s more like since 2006 or 2007 haha).
I don’t know why, but I was REALLY stressing out about the classes I had to attend. I don’t know, I guess I thought the instructors would be...

The Dark Tower
Director: Ron Howard
Actors: Javier Bardem
I’m excited to see Ron Howard behind the helm of this genre-bending, multi-film mega-adventure. Howard has an intimate knowledge of film as an art form, plus an undeniable humanistic touch that will be important to this series. I’m…

Watching movies on TV
I don’t think this is something I’ve ever waxed on here on my blog, but never watch a movie that you’ve never seen before for the first time on TV. There’s a couple reasons why: 1) commercials ruin the flow of the film, 2) oftentimes they’ll edit out scenes or cut it differently to make the film run at a more acceptable runtime, and 3) editing of swears/ sexual...
